About the Nissan GTR

The Nissan GTR has set a new standard for sportscar production, not just because it is phenomenally fast, capable and approachable, but also because it’s not actually that expensive. Porsche, Ferrari, Aston? There’s no longer any need.
Despite immense power and an out-and-out performance bent, the GTR is superbly comfortable and refined. It rides firmly though, and when we get to drive one in the UK we’ll know if that’s going to be a problem.

There’s 470bhp being sent to all four wheels via a semi-automatic dual clutch gearbox. This means 0-60mph in around 3.5 seconds and a top speed not far shy of 200mph. But it’s what you can do in between that sets the GTR apart.

What a beast of a car, its curvaceous body seemed to be never ending. After having an exploding bonfire, the owner of this beautiful vehicle realised it was covered in white residue that wouldn’t come off.

Our Treatment

Firstly we pre rinsed the wheels and cleaned them using Clb Citrus wheel cleaner and a Clb Detailing Brush. To neutralise the acid free wheel cleaner we washed the wheels off using Super Sud’s shampoo.

The exterior bodywork was jet washed to remove any loose contamination prior to the application of snow foam. The snow foamed was applied and left to dwell for 10 minutes, we washed the exterior using a sheepskin wash mitt and two buckets. The remainder of the snow foam was rinsed off and the vehicle was dried.

Now all the exterior bodywork, arches, wheels and door shuts have been properly washed the car was dried and taken inside to be clayed. The clay process will remove any remaining bonded surface contaminants. The wheels are also clayed and polished to ensure they are intensively clean before the wheel sealant is applied. To finish the wheels a tyre dressing is applied.

Once all the preparation work was completed we proceed with the polishing stage. As the vehicle did not require any paint correction we applied a pre wax cleanser on a soft polishing sponge using a rotary polisher. By applying the polish with a machine we were able to ensure we had achieved the deepest gloss possible before applying the wax.

A bespoke premium carnauba wax was applied to enhance the depth and protect the bodywork. A second layer of wax is applied and a final wipe down with a top quality quick detailer / sealant to remove oily residue from the curing of the wax layer.

With all the major work done we turn our attention to the minor details. These minor details make all the difference and enhance the appearance of the vehicle. In short we then, vacuumed and dressed the interior, polished and cleaned the glass inside and out, polished and sealed the exhaust tips, dressed the tyres.
